How to replace the idler wheel of crawler crane

The working principle of crawler crane idler:

The working principle of the crawler crane guide wheel is as follows. Use a grease gun to inject grease into the grease tank through the grease nozzle, so that the piston extends out to push the tension spring, and the guide wheel moves to the left to tighten the track. The top tension spring has a proper stroke. When the tensioning force is too large, the spring is compressed to play a buffering role; after the excessive tensioning force disappears, the compressed spring pushes the guide wheel to the original position, which can ensure sliding along the track frame to change the wheel spacing and ensure the removal of the track. It can reduce the impact of the walking process and avoid the derailment of the rail chain.

The reasons for the damage to the idler of the crawler crane are as follows:

The main reasons are as follows:

1. The different axial degrees of the bimetal sleeve sliding bearing of the guide wheel are out of tolerance, and the crawler belt will generate vibration and impact. Once the geometric size is out of tolerance, the gap between the guide wheel shaft and the bushing will be too small or no gap, and the thickness of the lubricating oil film will be insufficient or even no gap. Lubricating film.

2. The surface roughness of the guide wheel shaft is out of tolerance. There are many metal ridges on the shaft surface, which destroy the integrity and continuity of the lubricating oil film between the shaft and the plain bearing. During operation, a large amount of metal wear debris will be generated in the lubricating oil, which will increase the surface roughness of the shaft and the bearing, and the lubrication state will worsen, resulting in serious wear of the guide wheel shaft and the sliding bearing.

3. The original structure is defective. The lubricating oil is injected from the plug hole at the shaft end of the guide wheel, and then gradually fills the entire cavity. In actual operation, if there is no special tool for oil filling, it is difficult for the lubricating oil to pass through the circuitous cavity in the guide wheel only under the action of its own gravity, and The gas in the cavity is not discharged smoothly, and it is difficult to fill the lubricating oil. The oil filling space of the original machine cavity is too small, resulting in a serious shortage of lubricating oil.

4. The lubricating oil in the gap between the guide wheel shaft and the bushing cannot take away the heat generated by the bearing operation because there is no oil passage, resulting in an increase in the working temperature of the bearing, a decrease in the viscosity of the lubricating oil, and a reduction in the thickness of the lubricating oil film.

The method of replacing the idler of the crawler crane:

1. First remove the crawler on the crawler crane. Remove a single valve at the place of the grease nipple and release the butter inside. Zhongyun Intelligent Machinery Group recommends using a bucket to push the guide wheel inward to make the track as loose as possible. Remember to remove the single valve. Otherwise, it is not easy to remove the crawler, and it is even more difficult to install it.

2.Install the guide wheel. The guide wheel installation is the same as the general wheel installation method. Use a jack to support the crawler, and then use a screwdriver to unscrew the screw. After removing it, install the new wheel and apply lubricating oil to complete the installation.
